3-4A Class News
3-4 A have been learning about living things. We have studied food chains and life-cycles as well as investigating the many benefits of trees.
We read The Gentle Genius of Trees, which told us about what trees need to grow and how they help each other by sending nutrients through their roots to neighbouring trees. The message from the book helped us think about our own lives. The text talked about being strong, yet flexible and that we should help each other in the same way elements in nature look after each other. Here are some reading responses from the book.
“Shade (from adult trees) helps young trees because they need to grow slowly to get a strong trunk.’ Hollie
“The message from the text is saying when things get tough, find the flexibility in your brain to help you and keep calm.” Storm
“The author is meaning to grow in kindness” Kiara
We also created crayon and ink art-pieces of flowers.
