Career Information Day - Years 7-13

RTO_Logo.jpg

Tuesday August 10 Lilydale District School hosted a career information morning for the Years 7-13 students.  Students and staff listened to guest speakers reflect on their careers and working life, the role of education, completing courses and the various paths life can take.  After a break we headed to the PAC for an expo where industry and education groups set up booths for students to rove around and ask questions.  This proved very beneficial with many students asking direct questions about career choice and education paths to consider. We had a wide variety of industries including the armed forces, police, forestry and agriculture.  Agriculture/Horticulture was our main focus for the Year 11-13 students who are studying VET Agriculture/Horticulture certificates. The engagement of students was excellent.  Some students were interviewed by ABC radio for the rural segment and spoke really well about their education in Agriculture. Thank you to everyone who helped make the morning a wonderful event.

Here are some feedback notes from stall holders, staff, students and a parent.  Last year I took away the feedback to make 2021 even better.
