Lilydale District School is switching to using digital communications through Ed Smart. Ed Smart is a secure online platform used by schools across Australia. DECYP schools are currently using it for broadcast messages and student absence notifications.

We are switching to Ed Smart to make communicating with parent/carers easier and timelier. It will be used to send digital broadcasts or forms to collect information or permissions.

How it works:

• For a broadcast message, you will receive an SMS message or an email. These messages are general notices and do not need to be replied to.
• For Parent Slips, you will receive an SMS or email notification with a link to click. This opens to a secure web page where you can complete the form.
• Any data you submit in the forms is stored safely with Ed Smart and is only visible to authorised school staff.

Why are we switching?

• It makes it easier for families to receive and respond to forms.
• It helps reduce the number of paper forms we need to send home.
• Ed Smart helps reduce the time and effort required by staff to manage communications.

What else do I need to know?

• Communication from Ed Smart can only be sent to the primary parent/carer contact at this stage.
• If you are not the primary contact but would like to receive a copy of a form or provide consent individually, please contact the school office.
• If you would prefer a paper form, please contact the school office.
• If you need to update your mobile phone number or email address, please contact the school office.
