As a fun way to finish off our unit about The Gingerbread Man, we made our own gingerbread people! First we talked about what a recipe is, then we identified the different ingredients that we would need. Most of us liked the smell of the ginger! We took turns measuring and adding ingredients into the bowl and using both our hands and a spoon to mix the ingredients together. Once the mixture was ready, we then rolled it out flat and used a cutter to make gingerbread people shapes. We then put them into the oven to cook. We could smell them cooking while we were playing outside, and it made us feel hungry! When our gingerbread people had finished cooking and had cooled down, we decorated them with sultanas, icing, choc chips and M&Ms. Then came the best part - we got to eat them! They were delicious!
