Music Notes
Although the past few weeks have been somewhat muted due to the COVID-19 restrictions, 2021 has seen the hills around Lilydale District School once again being filled with the sound of music!
Senior students have been not only learning and refining their Music Notation Literacy but also enjoying the experience of playing music in an ensemble context! We have several budding percussionists and bassists! Seniors have also been dabbling in original compositions with some incredible pieces being created!
Over the remainder of Term 2, Seniors will be invited to join the Lilydale School of Rock! Which will be open to any Year 9-10 students who are interested to play in a band setting. We will meet each Tues at lunch! If it proves successful, we will open the opportunity to all other High School Students (Years 7-8).
The Junior Music program, thus far has been a raging success with students participating in Body Percussion, Choral Singing, Movement, Beat, Rhythm and learning new songs! Riptide by Vance Joy has been far and away the favourite! However, Shotgun by George Ezra is making a strong run towards the end of the term!
Cant wait to see what the remainder of the year shall bring!
